The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District recently welcomed two new fire-fighter/paramedics to the Fire District. On April 23rd at the monthly trustees meeting, Senior Trustee Paul Grzelak swore in Lucas Schjbal and Dan Hill to the career ranks of the fire district. Both of them are Illinois Basic Operations Certified as well as nationally certified paramedics upon their hiring, which is a valuable asset to the residents of the fire district. The hiring brings the fire district's career staffing up to 11 full-time members supported by 6 contract personnel, and 29 part-time employees. The fire district continually looks forward to hiring cross-trained personnel primarily capable of providing advanced life services as well as fire suppression needs when called upon. Last year alone the fire district responded to over 4,400 calls for service.
